ICT Strategy
A vision for the future
Information Communication Technology (ICT) is all about improving the way your organisation works. Any ICT development should meet the needs of the organisation it belongs to - everyone and everything within the organisation needs to benefit.
Strategic ICT is about managing change successfully. New systems take time to bed in, cost money, cause disruption and can cause chaos if not properly managed. Managing change is fundamental to the success of ICT.
The elements
• An ICT Vision – what is the point of your ICT?
• Budget and predicted ‘return on investment’ across the organisation – how much will it cost?
• What will the impact be on people?
• Training – it’s no good if you don’t know how to use it.
• Technology – hardware, software and infrastructure.
• What does success look like? How will you know if your ICT is working?
Your strategy needs to be short and simple to understand – everyone in the organisation must be able to follow it. It needs to clearly articulate the benefits and it needs to be clear who will benefit. It must say what you want to do and why. It has to sell the vision and the impact. It will be best built in bite size chunks and it must be a plan for the future, engage others and be able to support and accommodate change.

CIHS were very approachable and friendly. The consultant quickly built trust with our teams, and enabled them to develop. They know their stuff technically as well, and command respect because of that. Even if CIHS had not been recommended to me, I would have chosen them anyway.
